Quote of the Day...

So I am 27 weeks pregnant now and am "popping" out. I seem to be getting bigger daily almost!
So yesterday Moses was telling me about a video he watched in school:
"And Mom... in the movie Santa was thinner than you".
Moses made this comment nonchalantly and then turned and went back to playing. I kind of muttered "Mmhmm" distractedly and then moments later it dawned on me what he had just said. He told me I was fatter than Santa! I did not know whether to laugh or cry but decided to have a good laugh at my son who so nicely told me that I was bigger than Santa Claus!

Update on Life..

We have been busy, busy, busy since Thanksgiving! It was officially decided after Thanksgiving that we are moving back to Lancaster, Pennsylvania! We are excited for all that life holds for us back home! It is bittersweet leaving Emerald Isle but we know the next season holds good things for us. We are moving January 1st so needless to say there has been a flurry of activinty in our home as we get ready for Christmas and try to pack up our house (with three little kids and a baby on the way too!) :)

We have managed to enjoy the holiday season though and took a trip to Mike's Christmas Tree Farm where we went on hayride to see the light show, picked out our Christmas tree & drank hot chocolate! Sarah and I also went to see the Nutcracker Ballet together. In addition we had a cookie bake with Naomi, Denise, Hilary and 10 kids where we spent the day baking (and eating) cookies. So we are getting into the Chrismas spirit!

Happy Holidays!

Happy Thanksgiving!

For Thanksgiving the kids and I made pinecone turkey centerpeices. Here is a taste of our handiwork!

We celebrated Thanksgiving in New Bern. Here we are after stuffing ourselves and before the guys dove into a game of football on the lawn!

Photo Shoot...

The day before Thanksgiving we hit the beach for a little photo shoot in hopes of getting a picture for this year's Christmas card. This was our second attempt since our first try at a picture turned out disastarous (I don't know who was more cranky at the end...Mom or the kids!) This photo shoot did not turn out too much better but we did get a couple fun shots like the one below (which cracks me up because everyone is doing their own thing!). It is next to impossible it seems to get three toddlers to smile and look at the camera at the same time! Anyways...we had a fun November morning at the beach all the same!

The gang doing their thing!

Sarah actually smiling at the camera!

Silas holding the bribery tool...gum!

For Grandma..

Thank you for the flashlight, backpack and sleeping bag that I got in the mail! I loved them! :)

Visitors...

We have been blessed with visitors in the last month. It has been a blessing to see people from home. The second week in October Chris, Meg, Jaiden & Reese came for a visit. It was a warm October day and we hit the beach....the kids even ventured into the water. The kids loved seeing their cousins and we had a great time connecting with Chris & Meg. Thanks for the good visit guys!

Then....two weeks later Kevin, Lesley, Michayla and baby Elijah came to see us. We also went to the beach and Sarah enjoyed playing and "mothering" Michayla! We had a really good time with those guys and were blessed by their visit. Thanks again Kevin & Lesley!

November Cookout

Last week we had an evening cookout on the sound. There was a beautiful sunset to watch while we cooked our hamburgers & sausages. It was a fun time and made us again appreciate the beauty that surrounds us here on the Crystal Coast.

Chuck E. Cheese!

So...to celebrate Silas's birthday we went to the kids favorite place (besides RuckerJohn's of course)! Silas had a great time as you can see...

All right, to play this game first you need to line up your shot

Okay, aim...

Now THROW!

Me & Daddy had so much fun!

I really liked the shark game but I think Mommy was more into it than me!

Look at all the prizes we get to pick from!

Wow look at all our tickets!

Happy Birthday Silas!

Yes, I can have my cake and eat it too!

Look Who Turned Two...

Last Sunday Silas celebrated two years of life! I can't believe how big our little man is getting! He is becoming quite a ham these days and loves to "cheese" for the camera. His vocabulary seems to be growing daily and he is quite proud of himself when he says a new word. A few weeks ago in a restaurant a waitress asked him what his name was. "Bo-Bo", he said proudly. (Bo-Bo is a monkey from his favorite book). "Really," said the waitress, "Bo-Bo?". Silas just smiled at her.
I had to reassure the waitress that I did not indeed name my kid Bo-Bo. But Silas was proud nonetheless. We love this little guy and had a great time celebrating his second birthday!

Fall at the Beach

This past week has been cold here in Coastal Carolina but today it was warmer so we headed to the beach for a morning walk. By mid-morning the sun was beating down and we were hot so we shed our socks & sneakers and went barefoot on the beach looking for shells and digging in the sand! It was a great fall day at the beach!

Daddy & Me...

Silas loves to spend time with Daddy and he loves to play ball. So on this fall morning he got to do two of his favorite things...

Our neighbors have a basketball net set up in our cul-de-sac that we have fun shooting baskets with!

That net is really high Dad!

I've got the ball!

I love spending time with my daddy!

A Pirate, a Princess & a Tiger...

My three musketeers on their way to our neighbors to collect some candy! We went to a couple of houses in the neighborhood, to RuckerJohn's and to a nearby church that had a fall festival with games & candy. Needless to say they had a great time and got lots of sugar!

My litle tiger ready for some treats! He was heartbroken everytime he got candy because he just wanted to eat it all right away!

Sarah, the warrior princess. Her and Moses were sword fighting right before this picture.
My pirate...he came up with the outfit himself!
