Today is another snow day.... sigh. I started out the morning ready for whatever the day held. I was ready to embrace a day in the house with four kids. By 10:30 I was frustrated and ready to throw in the towel. How does this happen?
I have been trying to live in the moment...and be present with my children. But right now what I really want to do is dream of somewhere warm and sunny where the kids can run free and I can soak in the sun and walk along the beach collecting shells....
Ahh yes...but I know that the best thing to do is to
EMBRACE the season I am in right now...

JOY in the simple thing of splashing in the water. I want to find
JOY in the snow day...in playing chutes and ladders and having everyone home for lunch and children running thru the kitchen and doing the dreaded/beloved arts and crafts! :
These pictures are from last summer's family vacation to the Outer Banks. It was a great week with the cousins...always a special time. I realized recently I never posted pictures of this trip. What better time to dream of summer than on a cold, icy winter day...
Here's to dreaming of summer and embracing the JOY this snow day holds...

heard about the snow.....yikes! it was 70 today. had the french doors open...i, like you, am ready for summer! zion was sick last week for 3 days. i too, got to play lots of chutes and latters, candy land, etc. loved it cuz it rarely happens since they are all in school....treasured times for sure, even if she was sick:)

and for the record, i think you are doing a great job having a fresh perspective on being present in the moment. you do ~WAY~ more arts/crafts than i would dare attempt...your ~lucky~ kids. ;) we have another snow day today...we might be in the minority. i guess the 3rd week in june for school is a given. :)waaa-hoo. :) mis.
