Happy Easter!

Asheville Trip

Two weekends ago we made the trek across the state of North Carolina to Asheville, where we stayed in a little log cabin for two nights. It was a very needed break from the daily grind and great family bonding time!
Upon arriving at the cabin Moses asked, "Is our house made from Lincoln Logs?"

We stayed a mile from Chimney Rock and Lake Lure, two beautiful natural attractions. We had a great time taking pictures, driving through the mountains, and climbing Chimney Rock.

We also hiked to a waterfall. It was only a mile and half round trip but with two little hikers and a backpack it seemed much longer. We finally made it and you can see our triumphant faces at the end!

Brush Brush Brush

Sometimes even the simple things in life can become an adventure or an opportunity for a photo shoot! Here are some pictures of Moses & Silas brushing their teeth in their matching "twin" pajamas. Silas thinks he is big stuff and he is! Moses just recently went to the dentist for the first time and takes the job teaching his little brother how it is done very seriously!

Spring is Coming!

It is starting to feel like spring on the island! Dafodils are blooming and the weather is getting warmer! Sometimes it is still hard to believe we live here! We are definitely savoring our time here!

Silas loves birds. He freaks out whenever he sees them. The other day we saw a redtailed hawk at the park and he was screaming and squealing the whole time because he was so excited. He also loves to chase seagulls. It is awesome to watch him. So one day at the park in New Bern I chased them with him. It was fun and freeing. Oh, the simple joys!
