Like Mother, Like Daughter

I found a shirt for Sarah at Goodwill that matches one I already had. She was just tickled pink to be "twins" with Mommy. Here we are are in our matching shirts...

Mood Enhancer...

Last week Mark came home from work early one day and decided to rake some leaves for the kids to jump in. I was in a bad mood when he got home and playing in the leaves was the last thing I felt like doing...but I ran and did a giant leap into the leaves and somehow my bad mood faded as I rediscovered some of the simple joys in life like playing with my kids in the leaves.

I love this picture...check out my girl's moves!

I also love this picture of my man and his kids!

Mommy's Little Helper...

I was doing some laundry today and I couldn't resist getting out the camera and capturing a few shots of my little helper. She loves the sounds in the laundry room and is fascinated by the dryer. She is getting more active by the day it seems. She started scooting around the house on her belly this past week and is getting quite good at getting around. No more setting her down and finding her in the same place I left her. I love this stage...and my little Hope!

Like Father, Like Son...

Moses woke us up early one morning asking for the camera so he could take a picture of the sunrise. This is what he captured...

Pumpkin Princess

I forgot this picture earlier...Here is Sarah at Funk's with the Pumpkin Princess...fun times!

Fall Fun..

We have been enjoying the fall weather and being outside. Mark has been traveling during the week so weekends feel extra special. We have taken hikes, gone fishing and built many campfires in the last couple of weekends. The kids and I also visited Funk's "Pumpkin Land" one day last week...it is funny how things appear different when you get older...but the kids had fun! Here are a few snapshots of fall...

A campfire night ...
and
My three sillies at Funk's...

We went fishing and hiking at Silver Mine Park (our new favorite place) and everyone caught a fish! The kids were loving it!

Lost & Found

So I posted about our cat yesterday....how she got ran over by a car and how I surprised myself and cried! Well...I guess I was shedding tears for someone else's dead cat because she reapperared last night after dinner! I have never been so happy to see a cat! "Mommy how did she get off the road?" Sarah asked. Good question! The funny part was right before dinner Sarah asked if Jesus could bring her back to life and I told her probably not. And then she appears and the roadkill is gone! Hmmm....I don't think it was our cat but it was a lesson in faith for me and the kids!

Apple Pickin'

About two weeks ago on a Saturday morning we went to pick apples at the orchard right down the road from our house. The weather was just starting to get cooler and it felt like fall! We had fun picking different kinds and sampling some too! Since our picking we have made applesauce and apple crisp, and have eaten lots of fresh apples too! Yum! Here are some pictures of our morning together...

Daddy's Baby Girl...

On Sunday we had a baby dedication for Hope. It is hard to believe that 7 months ago we did not know this sweet little girl and now we can't imagine our lives without her. She has a special place in our family and in our hearts! Here are a few recents shots of our little Hope and a few of Daddy too!

Confessions of a Pet Lover????

I have never been much of an animal lover...I have been known to kick at cats and run from dogs! But in July we recieved two kittens when someone randomly dropped them off on our farm lane. We decided to feed them and name them Smokey and White Socks. Smokey was especially friendly and friends of ours fell in love with him so he moved onto a new home but White Socks stayed and we slowly became fond of him too. Today as I was driving I saw some roadkill right in the middle of the road so I slowed down only to see that it was White Socks! I surprised myself by starting to cry! I guess that is what happens when you open your heart to love ...even a cat!
